New York City Bridges
Brooklyn Bridge - Page 2

If you walk it, plan to spend at least an hour in each direction, so there’s time to stop and look. Wear comfortable shoes, not high heels. Stay in the pedistrian lane, not the bike lane. Don't expect to find bathrooms, food vendors or water available on the Brooklyn Bridge. Don't climb the Brooklyn Bridge. DON'T! Don't walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in inclement weather. Do take lots of pictures!

When you reach Brooklyn, you come to DUMBO (which stands for "Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass"). DUMBO is the first neighborhood you'll enter when you come off the bridge and it has spectacular views of Manhattan, making it a natural stop for most tourists.
